Complete Guide to Solar Batteries

Complete Guide to Solar Batteries

ME Green Team |

Looking to store surplus production from your solar panel installation may seem complex, but at ME Green we're here to help you demystify the process. We're going to introduce you to the main battery technologies on the market, along with their characteristics.

Lead Acid Battery

  • The most common solar battery on the market is the lead-acid battery. Its low cost and ease of installation and maintenance make it ideal for small solar installations. However, its lifespan is shorter than other types of battery, and it requires regular maintenance to operate properly.Batterie au Gel
  • Similar to lead-acid batteries, gel batteries contain an electrolyte gel that makes them watertight and safer. They last longer than lead-acid batteries and can be used in a wide range of temperatures. Although more expensive, they also require regular maintenance.Batterie au Lithium-Ion
  • Lithium-ion batteries are lighter and more compact than lead-acid or gel batteries. They are ideal for small and medium-sized solar power systems. They offer longer life and higher energy density, but are more expensive to buy.

Flux battery

  • Flow batteries are larger and more expensive than other types of battery, but they offer an extremely long service life and can store large quantities of energy. They are highly resistant to extreme temperatures and require very little maintenance.

Battery Lithium Fer Phosphate

  • Lithium iron phosphate batteries offer high energy density and long service life. They are also lightweight and compact, ideal for mobile solar installations. They are more expensive than lead-acid and gel batteries, but offer better performance and require less maintenance.

At ME Green, we can help you choose the right battery for your installation. Our energy experts take into account storage capacity, service life, conditions of use and, of course, your budget
